Washington County Sheriff - Employment

As you can imagine, there is a lot of behind the scenes work at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Much of this work is performed by specially trained personnel. The following are some brief descriptions.

Administrative Support Staff

 

Positions within the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for Support Staff

Each of these positions support the Sheriff's Office and the County Jail.

The Administrative Secretary works directly for the Sheriff, handles personnel paperwork/files, supports the Washington County Sheriff's Office website, and handles all social media accounts for the Sheriff's Office.

The Office Assistants provide clerical support and data entry for the office. These positions also direct callers and assists walk-in visitors and performs miscellaneous support duties for the Sheriff's Office Deputies.

The Process Clerk works with the banks, attorneys and public to set up and organize the Sheriff Sales, works with record processing, warrants and accidents. This position also maintains financial reports and records, determines legality of papers, generates worksheets for officers, collects service fees, schedules foreclosures and processes papers for deputies to serve.

The Records Assistants complete background checks, review and invoice open record requests, maintain departmental database, and process mail. These positions back up the Process Clerk, work with alarm records, maintain and create new Standard Operating Procedure documents for the department, and execute and finalize the training process for all sworn and non-sworn personnel.
