About Calumet County  

Calumet is a county whose primary location is in Wisconsin. A 2020 census report shows the County is home to up to 50,000 individuals. Its county seat goes by the name Chilton. Calumet County started in 1836 and officially went through the organization process in 1850. It’s also part of the Appleton, WI Metropolitan statistical area.   

The name of this County came from the term calumet. It’s a French term that refers to ceremonial pipes. These pipes were common among the Native Americans who lived on the shores of Lake Winnebago. Most of the early occupants of the Holyland region were people from various parts of Germany.   

The entire western boundary of the County exists in the Lake Winnebago area. The other popular water bodies in the area include Sheboygan and Manitowoc Rivers. The County also runs under the oversight of a seven-member commissioner. The Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency in the region.  

Calumet County Sheriff’s Office  

The Calumet Sheriff’s Office is a policing department whose central location is at 206 Court Street. Chilton, WI 53014. The department is responsible for the protection of the citizens of Calumet County. Part of this department’s role involves apprehension, prosecution, prevention, and detention of criminal activities. The department features the following divisions:

It also initiates programs that train and empower these professionals to provide security services.
