About Clark County

Clark County is one of the most populated counties in Wisconsin. It is thought to have been settled by Native American tribes of Chippewa, Dakota, Ho-Chunk, and possibly Menominee, who used it as hunting grounds. The French-Canadian traders joined the party in 1836, and the Mormon loggers in 1844.

The county was established in 1853 and is considered to be named after A. W. Clark or General George Rogers Clark. The county has several towns and cities, such as Loyal, Neillsville, and some other cities are shared with the neighboring Chippewa and Marathon County. Neillsville is the county seat, housing all the most important government buildings. The county has evolved over the years in its composition and population size and is home to over 34,659 residents. It has a rich history and culture with many popular attractions, such as the Chatty Belle, 1897 Clark County Jail Museum, and the High ground Veteran’s Memorial Park.

About Clark County Sheriff’s Office

Sheriff Scott Haines is the current Sheriff of Clark County. He had tried to win the seat in 2014 but lost to Sheriff Greg Herrick. However, in the 2018 election, he won the highly competitive Republican primary with just 63 votes, clearing the way for him to clinch the county’s top job. The Sheriff has been in law enforcement for over 30 years, working as a detective with specialized knowledge of investigations and criminal investigations. He has worked with the Greenwood Police Department, Colby/Abbotsford Police Department, and Clark County Sheriff’s Department.

The Sheriff’s Office is responsible for enforcing state and local laws and all motor vehicle laws. It has three divisions that help it execute its mandate. Additionally, the Sheriff works hand in hand with other leaders in his office, such as the Chief Deputy, jail captain, patrol captain, communications captain, and detective captain.

The detective division comprises the detective captain, four detectives, and a drug investigator. All the detectives in the division have specialized training to handle issues such as internet crimes against children, sensitive crimes, arson investigations, homicides, death investigations, sexual assault, child abuse, burglary, theft investigation, and property/evidence room management. The drug investigator helps to keep drugs off the streets. All the detectives receive mandatory training for two weeks each year to sharpen their skills.

The patrol division is the largest division with the patrol captain and 19 deputies, with some having specialized roles:

  •  4 shift sergeants
  • 2 recreational deputies
  • A K9 deputy,
  • a courthouse security deputy
  • a school resource deputy.

The deputies are on rotation and available 24/7 in all seven cities, 5 villages, 33 townships, and 23 unincorporated communities. They are on call for all types of emergencies and crimes in the county. The communications division handles all the communications between the citizens and several government agencies. The department has 12 full-time deputies and is in charge of handling all the 911 calls.

Clark County Inmate Search

The Clark County sheriff helps manage the county’s sole jail through the jail captain. The jail was built and opened in April 2000 and is built in a pod design. The jailhouse inmates of both genders are classified from minimum to maximum security risk. The facility has 12 deputies and four sergeants that help the captain keep order at the facility. The staff has been properly trained and requires 24-hour training to maintain certification.

1. Visit the portal

Clark County Jail has an average of 261 monthly bookings. As a search, it may be difficult to know if your loved one is housed at the facility, has been moved, or has completed the sentence. The county created a portal where members of the general public perform an inmate search. Unfortunately, the portal is often down, but you can easily find a loved one by entering the first, last name, or registration number.

2. Call the Facility

Due to the anxiety, you can find a loved one in jail; you can consider calling the jail at (715) 743-5380, sending a fax, or emailing the prison at their official email address [email protected]. You can also consider visiting the jail in person and getting help from the officer who manages the police station. There is currently no data that you can find the inmate record from the county record on the wine link. That means the most viable option of getting the jail roaster at the moment is visiting the jail and manually asking or calling the Sheriff’s office, which is open 24/7 for details on a loved one.
