About Crawford County  

Crawford County is located in the southern part of Wisconsin State. A recent census report shows the county is home to an average of 17,000 people. Its county seat goes by the name Prairie du Chien. In addition to Brown, Crawford is one of the first counties in Wisconsin.  

The town started based on the Michigan Territorial legislature in 1818. The name of the County came from William. H.Crawford. He was a treasurer who served in the regime of James Monroe. During its debut, Crawford County covered over 50% of Western Wisconsin.   

The County also covers a total area of about 600 square miles. The highest geographical point in the County goes by the term St. James Church IN Rising Sun.  

Other notable geographical points in the County include the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers. The main airport in the County is the Prairie du Chien Municipal Airport (KPDC).
