About Dunn County  

Dunn County was established from Chippewa County in 1854 and split into Dunn and Pepin Counties in 1858. It borders Barron County, Chippewa County, Eau Claire County, Pepin County, Pierce County, Polk County, and Saint Croix County. More so, it is named after Charles Dunn, the pioneer Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in Wisconsin who served between 1836 and 1848. And it covers a total area of 864.8 square miles, with a population density of 50.760/sq mi. 

Dunn County has its “Seat of Justice” at Menomonie and county government offices at 3001 US Highway 12 East, Suite 225, Menomonie, WI 54751. From here, the Dunn county government oversees various amenities, including nine highways, a U.S. interstate, two airports, historical sites, city parks, and zoos. Likewise, the county has 13 unified school districts, a congressional district, four state senate districts, and four assembly districts. Each district administration helps the central county government maintain law and order while assisting with relief work in times of emergencies.
