Forest County, WI, was established on the northeastern side of Wisconsin, out of Oconto and Langlade counties in 1885. It borders Marinette County, WI, Florence County, Iron County, MI, Langlade County, WI, Oconto County, WI, Vilas County, WI, and Oneida County, WI. As its name suggests, Forest County has an abundance of dense forests, lakes, and waterways. And Sugar Bush Hill is the third highest elevation in the state of Wisconsin. About Forest County Sheriff’s Office 

Forest County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency in Forest County, WI. The department is headed by a Sheriff, assisted by a the chief deputy sheriff, jail administrator, 18 sworn deputies, and support staff. This team offers the following services: – 

1. Criminal Investigations and Recreational Patrol Services 

The Sheriff’s Department has an aerial, water, and road patrol team comprising two patrol sergeants and their support staff. They patrol the 1,046 square miles making up the 14 townships in Forest County to enforce state and county laws and protect life and property. Also, the patrol team prevents and intervenes in adult and juvenile crime incidences, assists citizens in need, apprehends offenders and enforces traffic laws. 

2. Dispatch Services 

The dispatch division collaborates with the local EMS and fire and law enforcement agencies to relay communication between locals and the Forest County government. In turn, it has dedicated dispatch telephone lines for emergency calls, routine service calls, and administrative calls. Plus, it has mobile data computers, cell phones, digital radio systems, radar units, and camera systems to facilitate its service provision. 

3. Drug Unit 

The Sheriff’s Department has two Drug Unit Sergeants operating the Forest County Drug Task Force. This division collaborates with the dispatch team in responding to calls for service for drug-related incidences. More so, it has detectives and rescue crews who investigate the crime scenes, safely gather evidence, and execute search warrants to arrest and book offenders into Forest County Jail.  

4. Support Services
