The endearing physical nature of Iron County quite defines its uniqueness among the rest of U.S of Wisconsin counties. For those who want to experience waterfalls, Sandy beaches of Saxon Harbor, 300 pristine lakes, etc., the most appropriate destination is here.

Iron County sits on a 919 square miles (2,380 km2) piece of North of Wisconsin, which overlaps with small sections of the Lac du Flambeau and Bad River Indian reservations. At its position, the County forms boundaries with the other four counties;

  • Vilas County – east, southeast
  • Ashland County – west
  • Price County – southwest
  • Gogebic County, Michigan – northeast

As per the census of 2020, Iron had a population of 6,137 people hence a density of 8.1 per square mile. Among these people are the White, the dominant race, the Black or African American, Native American, and Asian, among a few other smaller groups.

Currently, Hurley city serves as its county seat. Most administrative offices can be found here so are the associated services. Iron holds general elections every four years to select new representatives at various dockets, starting with the County Administration seat.

About the County Sheriff’s Office

The office of the Sheriff heads all the security organs within Iron County. Its operation strictly remains within the county borders, where it facilitates all the public safety procedures. The in-charge Sheriff is always a security professional who serves under the legal terms of local and federal laws. In their docket exists other assisting sworn officers designated to various departments, i.e., traffic, surveillance, investigation, jail, and other correctional departments.

In the quest for peace and order installation within the County, the office of the Sheriff does not work in isolation but with other similar organizations. These include; the local policing departments, whose designations tend to be restricted to towns and cities, and the federal security departments. Some of their sharing include criminal intels and resources, police vehicles, backup, etc., and other enhancements they draw from the public who share information on crimes report in conjunction with other related information.

Jail Department

The Iron County Jail is one of the businesses handled by the office of the Sheriff under its correctional department. Typically, all their arrestees are brought here. Through their patrols and intel, the officers on duty capture wrongs across the County and bring them forth for detainment and prosecution.

The office of the Sheriff is always charged with the mandate of ensuring security for the correctional officers and the prisoners. Often, they deploy rules and regulations on the jail roster for safety maintenance within the premise.

All new arrestees start from the registration desk. Here various particulars of the offender, i.e., physical and administrative descriptions, are noted in the roster book – this information is later availed to the public through County Inmate Search Engines. Physical descriptions, in this case, include height, complexion, eye color, hair color, available scars, etc. The administrative ones are; transfer information, crime, residence, release date, and probation, among many others.

Iron County: How To locate an inmate

Inmate search offers a critical solution for two versions of people:

  1. Those looking to find out whether an individual is arrested or not based o their disappearance or
  2. Interested parties who want to know more about an incarcerated person. In most cases, these are lawyers and investigators

Unfortunately, the Jail Lookup process is much more available for all. Iron County inmate search procedures follow three main options. The first one is through inmate records through the prison websites. Iron County Jail offers information about its arrestees in most U.S jail facilities through its public website.

Check the Inmate Jail Roster to find the whereabouts of the person of interest. The involved search parameters include the name and precise residence of the offender. Any successful search gives information on inmates’ full names, date of birth, race, address, document type, case, division, booking date, court date, charges, court event, and court role.

Reaching out to the jail department would still serve as an alternative under this option. Call the facility on the phone: 715-561-3800 to ask any related queries.

Engaging Third-party Search Websites

This second option precisely includes crime-fighting organizations. Typically, their work strategy simulates the facility search options. One must key in the search parameters, full names, and location among the key ones to find results.

Advantage: This alternative features no boundary limits, as many official jail websites show. Therefore, even if the person of interest is not in the Iron County Jail, you would still find them in other facilities as long as they are under custody within the region.

Reach Office of the Sheriff – Iron County

Sheriff officers must update the arrest lists as soon as new members come in. Therefore, it is much more convenient to reach the department to inquire about your suspicions. Sometimes, arrests’ details may delay in appearing online; however, the manual list will always remain updated.
