Pepin County is a county in the United States state of Wisconsin. According to the United States Census Bureau, the county’s population was 7318 as of the 2020 census. The above figure makes Pepin County the fourth-least populated county in Wisconsin. Its county seat is Durand. Notably, Laura Ingalls Wilder, the author of the Little House on the Prairie children’s books, was born and raised in Pepin County. Pepin County was established in 1858 in parts of Dunn County. The town of Pepin, alongside the village of Pepin, was named after Lake Pepin. It forms the smallest county in the state by land area.
Pepin County Sheriff’s Office
Pepin County Sheriff’s Office provides full-service law enforcement service to all residents in all areas of Pepin County. This Office comprises 18 full-time employees and three part-time staff members.
