Pierce County is a county in the United States state of Wisconsin. This County is part of the Minneapolis–St. Paul–Bloomington, MN-WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. Ellsworth is Pierce County’s county seat. According to the United States Census Bureau, the County’s population was 42212, with 16780 housing units at an average density of 29.2per 11.3 square kilometers. The racial makeup of Pierce County is primarily white, contributing to 92.3%. Pierce County has a total area of 592 square miles comprising 574 square miles of land and 18 square miles of water.   

The County has numerous cities and villages, including Prescott and River Falls cities and Bay City, Ellsworth (county seat), Elmwood, Maiden Rock, Plum City, and Spring Valley villages. It also has 18 towns.   

Native Americans were the first group to occupy this area, which later became Pierce County. Studies indicate that this County has been inhabited for about 10000 to 12000 years. It was named after Franklin Pierce, the fourteenth president of the United States.   

Pierce County Sheriff’s Office  

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is committed to maintaining law and order in Pierce County, Wisconsin. This Office serves civil processes, keeps the jail, investigates crimes, provides court bailiffs, and provides anti-drug abuse enforcement and education. It is also responsible for welfare fraud investigation, traffic enforcement, accident reports, juvenile code enforcement, and water and snowmobile patrol. The Sheriff’s Office comprises a 24-hour dispatch center and handles 911 emergency calls.

The Law Enforcement Center is located at 555 W Overlook Dr. Ellsworth, WI 54011, United States. It is usually open from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm. Nancy Hove is the current Sheriff of Pierce County, Wisconsin.

The Pierce County Jail is a medium security correctional facility in Pierce County, 432 West Main Street, PO Box 9, Ellsworth, WI, 54011. The jail was established in 1993 and had been operating since. It houses male adult offenders convicted of crimes under Wisconsin state and federal laws. The jail has a population of 1700, making it the 14th largest correctional facility in Wisconsin. This is the maximum number of beds per correctional facility.   

This facility typically houses offenders awaiting trial or those serving short sentences of a year or less. Most of them are convicted of less severe offenses, usually misdemeanor crimes. The monthly average of total bookings in Pierce County Jail is 280. In a typical year, Pierce County Jail uses more than 84 inmates in its in-office work lines to assist in the administration of its kitchen, clothing, and different sectors.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is typically responsible for operating county jails. Therefore, it must maintain all inmate records regarding offenders arrested and incarcerated in Pierce County. The Office maintains an online Jail Roster that lets you view information about your incarcerated loved one. This roster displays a clickable list of the seven days of the week. Click on your designated day of the week to see a list of the offenders who were in the Pierce County Jail that day.   

Usually, the jail updates the previous day’s roster by 6 am the following day. For instance, if today is Tuesday, the most current information that you can view is Monday’s report. The facility will upload Tuesday’s report by 6 am on Wednesday. Typically, one can view the past seven days’ reports. For example, if today is Tuesday and you click on Wednesday, you will see last Wednesday’s report.

How to Perform a Pierce State Prison Inmate Search  

Inmates convicted of severe felonies within Pierce County are sent to state prison. Most of these inmates stay at the county jail awaiting trial before transfer. The Wisconsin Department of Corrections operates all state prisons. The Department allows you to locate an offender using the Wisconsin offender information page.
