Waushara County is located in Central Wisconsin, the US, about 80 miles (130 km) north of Madison. The county was created following a Wisconsin legislative act on February 15, 1851. However, it became fully organized in 1852.

The county seat was originally in Sacramento but later moved to Wautoma in 1854 due to a contentious debate between supporters of the two locations. The Ho-Chunk etymology of the name is said to imply “excellent land.”

According to the US Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 637 square miles, of which 626 square miles is land and 11 square miles is water. In addition, according to the 2020 Census reports, the county had 24,520 people.

The residents of this county are politically Republican. Furthermore, way before 1900, Waushara County has never supported a Democrat.

In addition, the office provides resources such as Crime Stoppers to promote crime prevention via instruction, knowledge, and instruments. Waushara County Inmate Search

Waushara County jail, located at 430 East Division Street, Wautoma, Wisconsin, 54982, is the primary detention hub for all individuals charged with crimes under Wisconsin state, federal, and county laws.

Individuals arrested by various local law enforcement agencies are taken to the police stations for booking processes, where they can be released on bail. If they cannot pay or are denied bail, they are transferred to the Waushara County Jail. Note that court verdicts can take weeks or even months, and the facility must take care of the inmates.

Moreover, the facility also incarcerates inmates with sentences of less than a year and houses reentry inmates from the Wisconsin DOC and probation and parole violators. As a result, the WCSO must maintain the county inmate information on its website’s jail roster.

This jail roster is again made public records as per the Wisconsin Public Information Act; thus, anyone can perform a Waushara Inmate Search to locate an inmate in the jail.

How To Find An Inmate Using The Waushara County Jail Roster

Using the jail roster is simple since you only need to know the inmate’s name you seek to find. However, having more information about the inmate, such as their race, date of birth, or incarceration, may help you find them easily. Since there may be several inmates with similar names, tapping on the inmate’s name will direct you to their mugshot, where you can locate the inmate you seek to find.

If the name of the inmate you seek does not show up on the inmate list, the reasons may be:

  • They are not yet in jail.
  • They have not completed their booking or orientation process.
  • The court has sealed the information.

How To Locate An Inmate Not On The Jail Roster

There are other alternatives to conducting a Waushara County inmate search if they are not on the jail roster. For one, you can call the jail at (920) 787-6591 and request to locate an inmate. In addition, you can visit the jail lobby in person.

If the above methods fail, you can visit the Wisconsin Statewide Inmate search database or the Wisconsin DOC sex offender search to locate an offender if they are sex offenders by name or geographical location.
