Ever wonder what it’s like in a Jail? The Washington County Jail Photo Album will take you through a mini-tour. Check it out!
These photos are featuring some of the training necessary to keep Corrections Officers, staff and inmates safe. Although every effort is made to keep physical contact to a minimum, there are times when people taken into custody and brought to the jail are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and will not adhere to verbal commands.
In the event an inmate might become violent, our staff is trained in many verbal skills to speak with the inmate to try to calm the situation before resorting to physical confrontation. When this happens, the training skills for keeping everyone safe are instituted. These photos depict Correction Officers in training only and not true confrontation with any inmates.
